Animal surrender
Need to Rehome Your Reptile or Exotic Animal?
We understand that sometimes circumstances change. Whether it’s relocation, financial pressure, health issues, or lifestyle changes, rehoming an exotic pet can feel overwhelming.
At Hellfire Exotic Pets, we offer a responsible and confidential animal surrender service to help ensure your reptile, amphibian, or invertebrate is properly assessed, cared for, and rehomed safely.
What Animals Do We Accept?
We may accept:
•Snakes
•Lizards
•Geckos
•Tortoises
•Amphibians
•Invertebrates (tarantulas, mantises, scorpions, etc.)
All surrenders are subject to space, health assessment, and suitability.
Our Surrender Process
1. Contact Us First
Please contact us before bringing any animal in. This allows us to confirm availability and ensure we can properly accommodate the species.
2. Provide Animal Details
We’ll ask for:
•Species (common and Latin name if known)
•Age and sex (if known)
•Feeding history
•Known medical issues
•Reason for surrender
3. Health & Condition Assessment
All surrendered animals are checked on arrival. We reserve the right to refuse animals in severe distress or unsuitable condition without prior discussion.
4. Ownership Transfer
You will be required to sign a surrender form confirming:
•You are the legal owner
•The animal is in good health to the best of your knowledge
•Any known medical issues have been disclosed
•You accept responsibility for costs arising from pre-existing or undisclosed conditions
Once signed, ownership transfers fully to Hellfire Exotic Pets and the animal will not be returned.
Veterinary & Cost Responsibility
If veterinary treatment is required due to undisclosed or pre-existing conditions, you may be contacted regarding associated costs. Transparency protects both the animal and our rescue resources.
Is There a Surrender Fee?
We ask where possible that the animal comes with its own enclosure.
In some cases, a surrender fee may apply. This helps cover:
•Veterinary checks
•Feeding and care
•Quarantine procedures
•Cleaning and housing
We will always discuss this with you beforehand.
Why Surrender to a Specialist?
Choosing a specialist reptile shop ensures:
•Proper species-specific care
•Correct heating & UVB provision
•Experienced handling
•Responsible rehoming
•Welfare-focused decisions
We prioritise long-term welfare over quick turnover.
Urgent Situations
If the animal is unwell or injured please contact your local veterinary surgery.
If you find yourself needing immediate assistance, please contact us directly so we can advise.
We’re here to help — responsibly and professionally.
